Following on from my recent catastrophe where my wordpress blog froze me out and I thought I had lost all my work, my content and my files, I now have a plugin showing me exactly how to back up wordpress files.
It was only a few weeks ago, all I could see was some sort of error message, I had been in the midst of a new post when this happened and there was nothing that I could do about it. As always these things never happen at a good time, I knew I should have done a back up, I had been searching for something to show me how to back up wordpress files but you know how it is, when everything is okay there is no urgency, even if I had found something I would have filed it for later reading!
So after going through the trauma of thinking that I had probably lost my content along with the website settings, I was rescued very quickly by my hosting company D9 (Thanks Guys) after a quick email they responded with lightning speed not only solving my problem but re-storing the blog back to how it looked the day before it went down. Phew!
What a relief, so if this ever happens to you send in a request email to your hosting company explaining your problem and just hope that they have conduct back-ups on a regular basis like mine did... and beg them to help you out...But hang on a minute?
Who's responsibility is this anyhow?
Of course it is, it is ours or mine in this case so the questions for any website or blog owner is not how to back up wordpress files but how often should you back up your blog, well I would now advise after every post but at least a couple of times a week.
After all content is KING without it you have no site or certainly no reason for anyone to keep visiting or viewing your articles.
So I was introduced to a new plugin which can make complete back ups and of all your wordpress files, blogs and websites that you have. It will completely re-store all the information including settings, plugins and themes that you have so you could really say that this Back Up Creator as its called will actually clone your wordpress blogs and recreate them even to another hosting company.
I know that other systems exist but probably not at this kind of price, at the time of writing that price is $7... Now I don't know how long that price will remain at this level because lets face it, for what this baby can do it is unbelievable value for money.
Back when I lost my blog, I actually thought that it was going to cost me hundreds, and I would have paid it too.
Now with the help of Back Up Creator I am hopefully never going to be in that position again. With this system there is no reason that I couldn't back up my blog(s) after updating them with any new posts or alterations of any kind as it is just so easy. So if anyone else needs to know how to back up wordpress files simply take a look at The Back Up creator and watch the easy to follow video instructions and you will never have to go through that feeling again.
